The spinal cord impactor operates based on the free-fall principle and consists of an impact tip, weights, metal tube, and spinal clamps. It is primarily used for establishing spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury animal models.
By selecting different weight masses and limit positions, both the impact location and force can be precisely controlled, enabling the induction of varying degrees of injury.
The system does not require computer or software control, providing highly reproducible injury models with simple operation and excellent cost-effectiveness.
It is widely used in neuroscience research for experimental models involving mice, rats, guinea pigs, and other small animals.
