Brief description: Classic U-shaped base design, engineered for professional laboratory use A stereotaxic apparatus is a precision device designed to accurately position and immobilize the head of experimental animals for targeted brain research. During experiments, the animal’s head is securely fixed to eliminate any relative movement. A three-dimensional coordinate system is established using external cranial landmarks or reference points. By consulting a standard brain or stereotaxic atlas, researchers can precisely locate specific subcortical brain structures, such as the hippocampus. This enables accurate, non-visual targeting for procedures including electrical stimulation, lesioning, drug delivery, probe guidance, and implantation.
