Detailed Introduction
Background:
The T-cell surface glycoprotein CD4 is also known as the T-cell surface antigen
T4/Leu-3. CD4 contains 3 Ig -like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains and 1
Ig -like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. CD4 is an accessory protein for
MHC class II antigen/T-cell receptor interactions. CD4 induces lipid raft
aggregation . CD4 is the primary receptor used by HIV-1 to enter host T cells.
HIV infection causes a gradual decrease in the number of T cells with CD4
receptors. Therefore, healthcare professionals refer to the CD4 count to decide
when to start treatment for HIV-infected patients.
Overview:
Antigen name: Human B7-2 / CD86 Protein, Fc Tag; Other names: CD86, B7-2, B70,
CD28LG2, LAB72, MGC34413; Sequence source: Human B7-2, Fc tag, high quality
(CD6-H5257) expressed by human 293 cells (HEK293), with Fc tag; Molecular
weight: The calculated molecular weight of the protein is 51.5 kDa . Due to
glycosylation, the protein migrates at 66-100 kDa under reducing conditions and
120-140 kDa under non-reducing conditions (SDS-PAGE).
