background:

Recombinant human CD47 ECD protein ( hFc tag) is a fusion protein of recombinant human CD47 ECD (CD47 molecule) and human IgG1 Fc. CD47 contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain and is a receptor for the C-terminal cell binding domain of thrombospondin. It may play a role in membrane trafficking and signal transduction. CD47 is also a membrane protein that is associated with the increase in intracellular calcium concentration that occurs when cells adhere to the extracellular matrix. It is widely distributed on normal adult tissues as well as ovarian tumors and is particularly abundant in certain epithelial cells and the brain. CD47 may play a role in membrane trafficking and/or integrin-dependent signal transduction. It prevents premature elimination of erythrocytes. It may also be involved in changes in membrane permeability induced after viral infection. By acting as an adhesion receptor for THBS1 on platelets, CD47 plays a role in both cell adhesion and regulation of integrins. It also plays an important role in memory formation and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus.
