background:

EGFR is the expression product of the proto-oncogene c-erbB1 and is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (HER) family. The family includes HER1 (erbB1, EGFR), HER2 (erbB2, NEU), HER3 (erbB3) and HER4 (erbB4). The HER family plays an important regulatory role in cell physiological processes. EGFR is widely distributed on the cell surfaces of mammalian epithelial cells, fibroblasts, glial cells, keratinocytes, etc. The EGFR signaling pathway plays an important role in physiological processes such as cell growth, proliferation and differentiation. The loss of function of protein tyrosine kinases such as EGFR or the abnormal activity or cell localization of key factors in its related signaling pathways can cause tumors, diabetes, immunodeficiency and cardiovascular diseases. EGFR monoclonal antibodies inhibit tyrosine kinases (TK) bound to EGFR, block intracellular signal transduction pathways, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells, inducing apoptosis of cancer cells, and reducing the production of matrix metalloproteinases and vascular endothelial growth factor.
